…the morning
stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy….(Job 38:4,7)
When I looked at
the photo, there were stars in the sky above Chimborazo (see last photo). Then I noticed pin points of light on the foreground at the base of Chimborazo. My
first thought was stars on the groung... I wonder if they are angels, thinking of the above verse. I was surprised when I
enhanced the photo and zoomed in and saw what looked like.... an angel! As I enhanced the series of 30
second exposures I took on a tripod, I was surprised to see these images hold their shapes in different locations.
On second thought they could just be aberrations on my lens. In optics, an aberration is the
failure of rays to converge at one focus because of limitations or defects in a
lens or mirror. Hmmm….
Mt Chimborazo is known by the indigenous as a
seat of spiritual power. Could they be fallen angels, or elect ones sent for
some reason? Even if they were an aberration, it drew me to think of Christmas
and the great annunciation of Luke 2
“And an angel of
the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around
them; and they were terribly frightened. And the angel said to them, "Do
not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be
for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you
a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."And this will be a sign for you:
you will find a baby wrapped in cloths, and lying in a manger." And
suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host
praising God, and saying,"Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace
among men with whom He is pleased."
